Sales and Marketing:
Lane Zastrow, born September 14, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the President of Lasar Music Corp. Lasar is the exclusive sales and marketing company for Heritage Guitars Inc. Lane is both an educator and performer. Lane attended the University of Wisconsin as a music major. He played oboe with the milwaukee Symphony and taught in the Milwaukee Public School System. As an accordionist he has won 5 firsts in the virtuoso category in national competition and 2 international titles. Lane has also performed for 2 US Presidents. In 1971, Lane joined Chicago Musical Instruments Company, which is the company that owned Gibson Guitar Corporation. He worked as a salesman in the New York Metropolitan area and in upstate New York. At this point CMI, through a merger, became folded into The Norlin Corporation. Over a period of years many of the companies had been sold off except for Gibson Guitar Corporation. Through this time Lane had a series of promotions including Regional Manager, Zone Manager, and National Sales Manager. In 1982, Lane became Vice President of Sales for Gibson Guitar Corporation and then Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1986, Gibson Guitar Corporation was sold and in April of 1986, Lane left and started Lasar Music Corporation. The affiliation of Heritage and Lasar became a natural progression because of the many past years of working together. Lane's functions with Heritage are to secure dealer and distributor orders, develop literature, work with artists, create new product ideas, and develop promotions. Lane's hobbies are tennis, running, and golf. |
