Customer Comments:

I got my guitar back yesterday and it's great.  I noticed that in addition
to replacing the truss rod nut and installing the HRWs, you fixed the nut,
dressed the frets, replaced all the wiring and the end pin jack.  And
gave it a nice polish too.  Killer.  The polishing really brought out the
true colors in the finish.  It has never looked so beautiful.  You were
right about the guitar sounding acoustically louder.  It's punchier.  The
pickups sound great too.  They have a nice full attack, not to sharp and
not too soft, just right.  The tone is nice and full and continues
consistently beyond the 12th fret.  The old pickups were fine in the
midrange but didn't maintain good tone in the high range.  The HRWs sound
beautiful up there.  The overall tone is much improved.  I feel like I
have a new guitar!  Another thing, I never used to use the bridge pickup
but this HRW bridge pickup is not only usable but sounds quite good too.
I can't say enough about the great job you guys did.  To say that I'm very
happy with the guitar now just doesn't quite cut it.  I just can't stop
playing it.  It's really great.  I can't wait to play it on a gig.  Thanks
so much.

To Rendal and the Heritage team:

I just received my prized H535 back from you after an upgrade to HRW pick-ups with the coil tap option. I loved this guitar before, but could not have predicted just how much difference the HRWs make. Every fret and pick nuance is captured, the tone is incredibly rich and complex through both my tube and solid state jazz amps, I hear overtones that I barely knew existed and the coil taps provide versatility with consistent volume and no noise. I have done a head to head comparison with another high end solid body guitar from a well known maker and it is now no match for the 535. Also the guitar came back from you looking great and set up beautifully – it plays like a dream. I now have to upgrade my 576, and start a savings plan for an H150CM with HRW’s and coil taps.

Thanks, I don’t know how you have done it but I think you have the best pickups (and guitars) in the market by a long shot.

Best regards,,

Dave G

I recently received my H-535 that I sent to you for repair and an upgrade
to HRW pickups. Boy, was I surprised at the super fast turn-around for the
type of work that I requested to be done to my guitar. My experience with my
local dealership-associated repair shop was that a simple low-action
adjustment takes at least a week. You not only did the low-action adjustment
but upgraded the pickups as well, replaced the pickup selector switch, and a
couple of other things, PLUS returning the guitar to me well buffed and
polished, all in less than a day (discounting the shipping trip of course).
It was also well packed to withstand rough handling (thank God, the shipper
got it to me with only the slightest dent on the packaging). But most of
all, I just love the sound the new HRW pickups make. Everything that were
already said by countless satisfied customers on your web site about the
pickups are TRUE! I could not find anymore a fitting adjective to describe
what a terrific sound the guitar oozes out. Thanks to all who participated in making this
experience truly satisfying, specially to Ren who helped me from the very
start.

Played the Sweet16 at the gig last night and thought you would want to know how it went. I took my Twin so as to be able to cut through the organ with clean sound. The first thing I noticed was it was instant Wes Montgomery/ George Benson tone. I was completely knocked out before we even started. I don't have a clue as to what you did to my fingerboard but this thing plays like butter from the low F to the high C on the E string. I don't need to tell you about the HRW!!! Cleanest sound for chord solos ever. Single note stuff just popped out there. Fast runs you could hear every note. The drummer/singer was not there last night so I didn't get to do any blues stuff and use the coil tap, but I messed with it at the sound check and I could tell that with the bright switch on the twin it was instant Stratocaster.
Now here is the kicker: NO FEEDBACK!!! Not even a little bit. You really did an incredible job on this for me. Thank you so much and I hope this note will be of some interest for the guy who invented the best pickup in the world!!!!!!

Last year you folks built me a H150 with HRW pick-ups, nice flame top, gold hardware, ebony fret board (the works).  I have played it daily for almost a year. I now feel I can give you a grade rating on the guitar...A+. You guys rule! The tone is to die for, the action is so fast I am playing licks effortlessly that used to require much more concentration. Your product is superior, your client service is superior (the guy that built my guitar e-mailed me when I rec'd to make sure I liked it...classy!). Basically I love my Heritage, my friends all want to get one now. Thank you and I will eventually get another Heritage (likely in another year).

Thank you for building me a custom Sweet 16 with the 4 point  HRW pickup.
This guitar is warm and full toned. The guys in the orchestra just rave about the sound of this guitar. It has the clarity to play solos over the top of the brass and it still maintains great tone even at that louder volume. It sounds best plugged right into a tube amp with no effects.
The quality and beauty of this guitar is outstanding.
Heritage guitars are by far the best buy in any market today.
Thank you for making me sound so good.

The Heritage premium HRW Pickup

Wanted to let you know how wonderful my "4-Point  HRW Pickup" is (the
first to own one on my block... thanks to your genius). We just finished
another jazz project with the Jacobs Brothers and I was truly pleased
with the consistency and how even the "HRW pickup" played, from top to
bottom on the entire length of the neck without any hot spots...the tone
I get is so rich "It inspires me to play". Kudos, my friend, you have a
"True Winner" and a forever user with your HRW pickup...Thanks again!

Please express my sincere thanks to all of your people who helped put
my 555-12 String together.

I have had the Emerald Mistress for one month now. It is a pleasure
to play, with the best neck I have ever handled on any 12 string, acoustic
or electric. The instrument rings on/ sustains perfectly. During chord work,
it displays a well rounded fullness/richness of sound that reminds me of a
baby grand piano.
The HRW pickups are more noiseless than any other guitar in my
possession. While deceptively quiet, they can knock you off your seat if
attacked. They are certainly NOT shy. They are extremely clean when handled
with sensitive touch, but display absolutely no hesitation if one wishes to
punch the strings.
And the guitar is simply magnificent to look at. Beautiful looks and
responsive to your touch. Hard to leave it alone. I think the name I finally
settled on, Emerald Mistress, is appropriate.

Again; I appreciate the effort and results your team achieved. I have
no doubt that any other Guitars I need will come through your doors, and I
have and will continue to suggest to people who recognize Quality that they
talk to the people at Heritage.

 Respectfully; CC

Whether I want a warm, sweet, lush sound for 'Body And Soul', a swinging stinging sound for 'Saints' or rolling, rumbling thunder for the 'Wabash Cannonball', with my HRW Pickups I have it all! . Finally! ,  after making professional music in Eight Decades   I have the sounds I want!. When I rear back and wrap myself around my beautiful Natural Finished SUPER EAGLE with twin gold HRW Pickups and crank it up, everybody agrees, “Ol' Hardrocks Really – Wailing.

If I were the owner of Heritage Guitars the only way an 'AXE' could get out of that Kalamazoo 'Wood Shed' without HRW Pickups, would be to ESCAPE!

Sincerely and Cordially, Hardrock  G

I received the new H555 2 days ago. I must say the beauty and finish of this
guitar is better than I could ever have imagined.  It is an eye magnet for
everyone when I take it out of the case.  More importantly is the sound.  I took your advice and ordered the HRW pickups with the D-VIP system.

This guitar is a monster of sound.  I have played and owned so many high end guitars, but none even came close to this pure sound.

This guitar can be loud yet it is clear and warm all at once.  There is none
of that brittle high end.  It is twice as loud as any of my other guitars.
Every kind of music I played was great.   I played blues with the amp on 2
and it cut through the walls.  I had to pry it out of the hands of the best
jazz player I know.  He said "I could play this all day."  Every harmonic
range is beautiful.  With the D-VIP system, in out of phase, it sounds
better than the best Strat I have played.  I was able to get system
combinations that almost sounded like two guitars playing.  When I played
rock over drive it screamed, with sustain like I have never heard.  Even in
over drive it keeps harmonic balance.

No musical instrument has ever touched my soul like this.

Another friend who plays finger style, says this guitar is far superior to
his old Gibson 345.

This is absolutely the best sounding guitar I have ever played.

Thank you for your dedication to quality.  No other guitar company works
harder to provide innovation and customer satisfaction as The Heritage
Guitar Company does.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The HRW pickups have three settings that are at the pinnacle of their own personalities. When I heard these pickups I felt the sound in the center of my bones, my heart raptured, and my brain was in an electric haze. How does one fit the entire universe into a magnet wrapped with wire? Heritage did it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have two HRW pickups in my Heritage 575, running through a Fender Ultimate Chorus amp.  Words fail me here - the sound is unbelievably good. I mostly play rhythm guitar in a big band - five trumpets, five trombones, five saxes and four rhythm.  I do some small group work as well, so I get a chance to solo.  Musicians have come up to me and said that they have never heard a guitar sound like that.  They're not talking about my playing ability - they are talking about the clear sound that the guitar gives, even well up the neck.  I can play at any volume and the tone remains clear, shimmering and true.  The pickups never sound tubby or muddy up the sound when playing clean.  They will allow me to dirty it up and crunch if needed, though.

--------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've owned more than my share of guitars over the years, and played a few as well.  But in half a century of playing guitar, I have never had as great an experience and as much pleasure with music as I have had by picking up that 575 and turning it loose.  No matter what musical genre I am called upon to play, the guitar and the pickups allow me to do it better than anything else I have encountered.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having played guitar for almost 30 years, and having used Gibson, PAFs, DIMarzios, Seymour Duncans, EMGs and even Benedettos, it is obvious to me, that the Heritage HRW's are the most perfect pickups ever made. The Schallers, which my 575 was shipped with, always had a graininess, especially in the higher frequencies. The HRW's managed the heretofore impossible feat of being very clean, very open, very responsive, and very warm all at the same time. As an experiment, I strung my 575 with roundwounds (Thomastiks and D'Addarios) as well as flatwounds (GHSs and D'Addarios). In every case, the HRWs, faithfully revealed the distinctions and shone throughout. I'm grateful to Rendal Wall and Heritage Guitar, not only for making the most affordable and highest quality carved arch tops on the planet, but for now producing the ideal pickup. After 30 years, the long search is over!

I wish you much continued success in the future.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...I broke in my new H-140 with the HRW pups last night on a live gig, and with your eyes closed you'd think it was one of my carved tops. The sound through my Polytone amp is as warm as any hollow-body, and having the back pickup gives the versatility for any type of job I would ever run into requiring a solid body without sacrificing the pure jazz tone I am used to.
Truly amazing, and I owe you large for telling me about them to begin with.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for all your help in the last minute details on my custom Golden Eagle. What an outstanding job! I also want to thank you for recommending the new HRW pick-ups. At first they seemed a little to hot for my application, but after some adjustments and re-EQ of my rack equipment, I am able to achieve the sound of the late 50's throughout the 60's, only with more tonal definition, response and clarity than previously possible. This guitar is very alive with fast response, warm tone quality and has a great feel!

I am extremely happy with this instrument and am very proud to be associated with the Heritage Guitar Company "the finest guitars ever built".

Thanks again for all your hard work.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW! What sound. Has everything over the conventional humbuckers. I call it a deep-mellow sound. Super clear. I can get that Smokey jazz sound or pop like a tele if I want. I can really notice a difference between the three combinations of pickups. When my custom order JS is complete, I will be sending my H-150 back for the same treatment.

Thanks for treating my prospect with care. Not a scratch. Still looks great and sounds great.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently received a Heritage model H-150CM Classic in transparent purple, that I custom ordered to sell in my guitar shop in, New Hampshire.

The color is stunning, the finish is flawless, the neck is perfect, and the action is like butter.

I expected it to be this good. What I wasn't expecting is these amazing pickups!

These are the new custom HRW Heritage pickups by Rendal Wall. They are without a doubt the tightest, most responsive, and by far the BEST sounding pickups that I have heard at any price in many, many years. They actually seem to be attack-sensitive. If you pick softly, the pickups are very warm and sweet. When you pick a little bit harder, the tone spectrum expands and the clarity increases.

When you pick strong and hard, HOLD ONTO YOUR HAT BUBBA! The sound just rips wide open with amazing power AND clarity AND warmth. The most impressive aspect is the fact that in all circumstances, these pickups retain their best quality........TONE, TONE, TONE!
Oh yeah, one more thing. These pickups do not have microphonic feedback problems of any kind. They don't  squeel, squeek, buzz, hum, or anything that you would expect from a high output pickup.

You'll find harmonics on every fret, all over the neck. I was so impressed with these pickups that I called the factory and changed my orders. I'm having these pickups installed in every guitar that Heritage builds for me.

All of you players are going to love these pickups!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am the proud owner of a translucent blue H-555.
It is a left hand model strung right handed, and it is the third guitar you have built for me. It came with gold HRW's,
and I was asked to provide a revue. The pickups are spectacular, as is the guitar. The tone is so rich and warm that other members of my band, told me that I ought to play that guitar on more tunes. It is a beautiful instrument, plays like a dream, sustains forever and has the most lush tone I have heard. It is even more magnificent than the Gold top H-150 and the H
575 you built for me previously. Quality and value!

Rendal Wall has been with Heritage Guitar for the past 20 years, and was with Gibson Guitar Inc., for 22 years (1960-1982). His father Rem Wall*, worked at Gibson for 37 years, WKZO-TV for over 35 years, and WGFG and WKZO Radio for 40 years.

Rendal Wall,     is the inventor of:

Gibson's - TP-6 (Fine-Tune Tail Piece - 1978).

Gibson's -  More bridges

Bigsby Vibratos  - ( new string roller pin bar )-- Eliminated the pins and set screws in the back string roller bar that held the string balls in place,  and replaced the pins and allen set screws with roll pins, that are still used today.  No more allen set screws are necessary, plus the holes do not have to be tapped.  This was an idea to keep the strings from breaking as the handle is worked up and down and the strings would roll across the open holes and cut  the strings.

Gibson's  "Equa" Strings -  Each string within the set, pulls within + or - , 2 lbs.  The balanced string sets of today, came from this original idea.

Gibson's - Top-Adjust TOM bridge.

Gibson's - Top-Adjust- 3 point TOM bridge. (Top and bottom view ). This can  be used on right or left handed guitars. Moved forward or rearward, for total lateral adjustment.

Gibson's - Brass " Sustain Sisters " (brass rods under the bridge-like on B.B. King's "Lucille"), (the  Howard Robert's Fusion guitar), (and the ES- 347),

Gibson's - G-3 Grabber Bass, Pickup slide. One sliding pickup, taking the place of two pickups.  It slides back and forth to a desired position.

Gibson's - Fiber Insert in Gibson flat-top bridges (to keep the bridge pins from splitting the bridge)

Heritage's - Single VIP ( for bridge pickup only ), and D-VIP ( Double Var-i-Phase) electronics. Variable phase rollers.

Heritage's - Award winning premium HRW pickups :   H-150CM Ultra,   Millennium DC,    Millennium Std. Ultra, Chris Bovard "Kahuna" Solid body Signature Model, H-535/ HRW/ Pigtail, H-140CM 2nd Edition.

, and other custom upgrades.

Heritage's - Award winning premium 4 - Point  mounted  HRW pickups, as used on the SKB
( Super Kenny Burrell Model -18" and Concert Master -18"), Kenny Burrell "Groove Master" Model 16", and the H-575 Mahogany / Spruce top -16",
David Paul Signature Model,
Henry Johnson Signature Model.
